Sports
We use a full sports programme for children of every age to help develop teamwork and set new challenges, as well as to burn off excess energy! The school has access to the excellent dry and wet weather sporting facilities of both the Moreton-in-Marsh Fire College and Kingham Hill School. The children can swim, play cricket, football, touch rugby, floorball (indoor hockey), rounders, netball, cross country running and tennis.

Drama
Drama is an important part of life at Dormer House and all children will be 'on stage' taking part in a production at least once a year. Private drama lessons can be used to aid confidence, improve speech and even help the child through the more difficult times in their lives when they may need to express anger or frustration in a safe environment.
Most of the children go on to do the LAMDA Speech and Drama exams but the benefits gained by these lessons are, more often than not, those which are not tested.
Music
All children have music and singing lessons as part of their curriculum but individual lessons are also available. The earliest private lessons start at 4 to 5 years with the recorder. Older children may take up individual instruments and piano, guitar, flute, violin, saxophone and clarinet are offered.
After School Clubs
We have many after school clubs run by the teaching staff. They take place from 3.30pm to 4.30pm and include; Rag Bag (Craft), art, chess, drama, sports, cookery, sailing, Greek, fencing, gym, dance, gardening, Spanish, debate club and windband. |
